David Shaw gets a lot of passes on many of his questionable coaching decisions but overall he is a good coach. That said, since Harbaugh resurrected them from the depths of FBS (via the loosening of academic requirements for recruits), Stanford had been on a roll. Not so much in 2019 (a bad time to miss them from your schedule). They are currently 4-6 (3-5) with their most recent losses to Colorado at home and @ Wazzu

Vs Wazzu their backup QB (5 star recruit Davis Mills) threw for 504 yards.

Now that is an anomaly..............only to be beat by their rushing stats. 10 carries (including 2 sacks for -13 yards) for 6 (SIX!) yards! Their leading rusher was WR St. Brown with 1 carry for 8 yards. This wasn't some blowout where they HAD to throw every play. They were down 22-14 at the half and 32-22 after Q3.

WOW

Oregon DE Kayvon Thibodeaux , thought by many to be the #1 overall recruit in the class of 2019 is coming on. He had 2 sacks vs u4 (with 2 other tackles in the best game of his career) and 1 the previous week vs USC. He now has 2 more than ASU's Jermayne Lole at 5.5 and looks to start his ascent to the top. He also has 4 QB Hurries, 2 PBU's and 1 FF

2 of the 3 All-Pac 1st team LBs have been decided after 10 games. 2019 Pac 12 Defensive POY Evan Weaver and Wazzu LB Jahad Woods

Predictably CU's Nate Landman is pushing hard for that 3rd spot along with Cal's Kuony Deng and USC's John Houston. ASU's Darien Butler is still in the hunt for 2nd team but would require 2 big games

On the Defensive Line 1st team All-Pac leaders are ASU's Jernayne Lole (runaway leader in tackles per game), Utah;s Bradlee Anai (runaway sack leader with very few other tackles) and Stanford's Thomas Booker, USC's Drake Jackson. USC's Jay Tufele, Cal's Luc Bequette and Udub's Benning Botoe'a on that order

It will be tough to stop the wheels rolling with the 1st team Pre-Season choices being CU's Mustafa Johnson, Utah's Leki Fotu and 2nd team choices being Utah's John Penisini, USC's Christian Rector and Oregon's Jordan Scott..............................but none of them have performed nearly as well as the 7 above.

As a matter of fact, ASU's DJ Davidson has played well beyond any of that 2nd group but he is WAY too late in the PR game to get beyond an Honorable Mention (which require 1 mere vote and that can even come from his own staff). The only Defensive Lineman in the Pac 12 with more Total Tackles or Tackles Per Game than DJ Davidson is Jermayne Lole. He also has 4.5 TFLs, 1.5 sacks and 1 PBU. Hopefully someone speaks up for him eventually

DB is fairly clear.. Lotza DBs have put their foot forward but 1sty team Pre-season choices were Stanford's Paulson Adebo, Utah's Julian Blackmon/Jaylon Johnson and Udub's Hunter Bryant, Only Blackmon has performed better than he did in the previous season that got him selected to the Pre_Season list in the first place. Nevertheless all 4 are likely 1st teamers. The 2nd team choices were Cal's Camryn Bynum/Ashtyn Davis, UCLA's Darnay Holmes and Oregon's Thomas Graham.

The biggest surprise is CU's transfer Mikial Onu who has a real shot at 1st or 2nd team. If they call USC's LB/DB hybrid Talanoa Hufanga a DB he has a shot. USC's Isaiah Pola-Mao has a strong argument amd Utah's Terrell Burgess does as well
