Yes and no.

As we saw with basketball this season, peaking at the right time matters. In basketball and baseball, unlike football, only the end of the year matters. So it can be tempting to not put weight on the Nebraska, Michigan or other losses.

But, the last 3 times ASU has gone to Omaha 10’ 09’ and 07’ the Sun Devils were a national seed. (Top 8 overall seed)

Maybe some historians can help me on this, but how important is it for ASU to get a 1 seed in a regional? The last time ASU advanced out of a regional where we were not the 1 seed? 2005 when we were the 2 seed but the games were played at Packard anyway because Coastal Carolina wasn’t able to host.

While it all comes down to the tournament, history tells us that it is REALLY hard to go on the road and win a regional.

It isn’t panic time, but they better start playing with a sense of urgency because the conference schedule does us no favors this year. Almost every big series is on the road.

It is time to get rolling in a big way.
