Using a general grade curve of (PAC ranks) 1-2 = A, 3-4 = B, 5-8 = C, 9-10 = D, 11-12 = F

National Ranks out of 127 teams: NCAA Stats

Total Defense: D-
9th in the PAC, 112th NCAA: Looking at that national ranking it's easy to say that this should be a HUGE F. The only thing that saves CTG is that my ranking are looking primarily at the PAC and there were 3 teams that were actually worse than us.

Passing YDS Allowed: F-

12th in the PAC, 127th DEAD LAST in the NCAA: Nothing needs to be said here. Our "No Fly Zone" was about as effective as Iraq's at the beginning of the Gulf War. CTG flat out fell on his face here. Worst in the nation. There is ZERO excuse for this as it's a combination of poor recruiting and horrible scheme combined with an arrogance and ego that doesn't allow for change.

Rushing Defense: B+
3rd in the PAC, 20th in the NCAA: Here is where we shined on D....or did we? When you're last in the NCAA in passing defense why would any competent OC try and run on us?

Red Zone Defense: D
9th in the PAC, 108th in the NCAA. Even in situations where the defense is more compact we fail brilliantly here. Of course it was on full display last night where on two occasions WVU through fade routes to the corner and our DBs, looking directly at the ball, couldn't even get a hand on them.

None of these stats alone is shocking to any of us but it's interesting when you really see how we ended up. Again, this was CTG's "Best Team Ever". What does that say about his ability to judge talent? Which begs to question about where all of this recruited talent is?
