A few things I came up with during this week's research. Some relative history on the line Saturday.
- With wins in 2013 and '14, ASU has now beaten USC in back-to-back years for the fourth time in series history. The others were 1982-83, 1991-92 and 1996-97.
- Should ASU win Saturday, it would mark the first time in series history ASU has won three consecutive games against the Trojans.
- ASU has scored an even 100 points the past two games against USC (62 in 2013, 38 in '14), the highest combined total in consecutive games in the series ever scored by either team.
- With home wins against USC in 2011 and '13, for only the second time in series history ASU has won consecutive games played in Tempe (also in 1996-97). A win Saturday would mark the first time in series history ASU has won three straight games against USC played in Tempe.
- The 62 points scored by ASU in 2013 are by far the most scored by either team in the series. The next highest by either team is 48 scored by USC in 2001 and ASU in 1996, though that '96 game as we all remember went into double OT.
- ASU and UCLA are the only two teams to have beaten USC three times from 2011-14.
