Hey guys, my first official post on here so hopefully I could give you guys some good insight.
There were four guys in green jerseys, including Tim White.
Speaking of White he still had a cast on his hand, though his cast was less substantial than what he had on last week.
Both Brady White and Bryce Perkins were rocking the quarterback standard grey jersey, versus the gold scout team look.
New running backs coach Josh Martin, was with the offensive line and not working with the backs, during the portion of team drills that the media was allowed to watch, it'll be interesting to see when that transition fully takes place.
Eric Lauderdale, went really hard in a drill in which all the wide outs had to run against a resistance band. I wouldn't have made a note of it except he struggled with his conditioning last offseason, so it was nice to see him going all out.
First-Team Offense: Mike Bercovici (QB), Demario Richard (RB), D.J. Foster (WR), Devin Lucien (WR), DeChavon Hayes (WR), Kody Kohl (TE), Evan Goodman (LT), Christian Westerman (LG), Nick Kelly (C), Vi Teofilo (RG), and Billy McGehee (RT).
First Team Defense: JoJo Wicker (DE), Demetrius Cherry (nose), Tashon Smallwood (Tiger), Antonio Longino (DEVIL), Salamo Fiso (SAM), James Johnson (SPUR), Solomon Means (CB), Lloyd Carrington (CB), Kweishi Brown (CB), Jordan Simone (S), and Armand Perry (S).
Arizona State ran a situational drive today, the offense was given no timeouts down by six and with about 60 yards to go to pay dirt.
Bercovici was sacked by Antonio Longino on the first play, Longino basically lived in the backfield the whole drive, though on that first play the coverage was at least partially responsible.
On second down, Berco was under pressure again and he threw a ball behind Demario Richard on a wheel route that Richard got his hands on, but couldn't quite pull in.
On third down Bercovici made a ridiculously good pass about 30 yards yards down the field to throw open a tightly covered Devin Lucien who made the catch with just the slightest bit of separation.
Offense couldn't get anything done the next three plays as Kohl, who on the whole has had a great camp, dropped a pass he probably should have caught in the end zone.
On fourth and 10, D.J. Calhoun and Longino blitzed both A-gaps and got quick pressure on Bercovici, Bercovici had to throw it up for grabs which resulted in a easy pick for Solomon Means.
Outside of the deep ball, the defense was dominant, Berco needed to get the ball out a little quicker on most plays, but it was tough with all the defensive backs out there and the non-contact jersey made it kind of hard to escape pressure. That being said his lack of mobility stood out.
ASU was essentially running a 4-3 over with nickel package personnel. Longino played as a stand up end on the line. Johnson at the Spur was an interesting development and it gives the Sun Devil's defense a ridiculous amount of versatility.
Mo Latu was rotating in at the nose tackle spot, and there was quite a bit of rotation on the line, so I didn't catch everyone.
Kalen Ballage was also rotated in on defense.
