Potential recruiting pipeline to St. Anthony (NJ)
Hurley's lack of west coast recruiting ties seems to be a point of emphasis for many.
However, as he said during his press conference, Hurley will NOT limit himself to west coast recruits only.
Instead, Hurley intends to recruit on a national level, and you have to wonder if he'll heavily pursue his old stomping grounds in the Northeast region, including his dad's school, St. Anthony in Jersey City, NJ. The elder Hurley has led the national H.S. powerhouse for the last 39 years and is constantly producing high-major prospects.
A couple of 2016 prospects to keep an eye on are:
Jagan Mosely[/URL] - 6'2" SG (Rivals' No. 105 player in the class)
Taurean Thompson - 6'9" PF/C (No Rivals profile, but ESPN rates him as a four-star prospect)
*The potential pipeline to St. Anthony could eventually pay big dividends for Hurley and ASU, even. Although it should be noted Bob Hurley Sr. is 67 years old and there's no guarantee he'll be there much longer.

2015 prospect to keep an eye on
It's late in the 2015 cycle and as I wrote in my latest article, the pool of available recruits is drying up fast. It would be highly unlikely that Hurley would be able to get a commitment from a highly rated H.S. prospect this late in the game. As a result, I wouldn't be surprised to see the coaching staff target JUCO prospects and/or graduate transfers.
One name to keep an eye on is Maurice O'Field. The 6-foot-5 wing is athletic and physical, and has a reputation of being a good defender. Considering Hurley's intent to play tough man-to-defense and ASU's need to replace Shaq McKissic, this prospect makes a lot of sense.
Even more important, O'Field signed an LOI last month to play at Buffalo, Hurley's former school. ASU (and Sendek) were actually involved in O'Field's recruitment early on, but decided to pull out.
O'Field is rated as the No. 14 JUCO player overall by 247Sports.
