The Pac was so predictable.........EVERYONE (even Stanford) offered more scholis to preps in CALIFORNIA than any other state and Texas the 2nd most......every year
Take the only 2 bluebloods out of the Big 12 (Oklahoma/Texas) and it is FAR less predictable (obviously impacted by the widespread additions separated by over 2,300 miles between Provo and Orlando)
Add to that the EXTREME amount of rule changes since Dilly arrived and it is anyone's guess if what is taking hold in this 2026 cycle will be commonplace in the class of 2027 or beyond (but undoubtedly becoming less and less locally focused)
Clearly portal recruiting is a VERY significant portion of every class but this is just about prep recruiting
That said, here are some current rules of thumb
Former Pac teams ASU /u4/Utah still make the most offers to preps in CALIFORNIA and then Texas...............for Neon Deion's first 2 1/4 cycles, Colorado followed suit while shifting other offers to a far more national scope..............they have now put Florida in front, moving California/Texas to 2nd/3rd. (Possibly more Neon Deion related than a long term trend).
Then the Big 12 teams located in Texas (Houston/Baylor/TTU/TCU) obviously make more in-state offers than any other but their #2 is far less predictable with a leaning towards Louisiana/Georgia)
Oklahoma State follows suit with the HEAVY Texas focus followed by 15 in-state offers and 14 in California
Kansas, under Leipold, has decided to go HEAVY in Georgia after Texas and then the other factories of California/Florida in 3rd/4th
Kansas State ---Texas/GA/FL
Iowa State seriously breaks ranks with Florida/Illinois/AZ/OH leading the way
West Virginia has to set a record with 540 offers in the class of 2026 SO FAR with at least 21 going to 8 different states led by Florida/Georgia/OH/NJ/Penn
Cincinnati leads with Georgia followed by OH/IL/Florida
BYU is FAR more focused with a league low 78 offers (West Virginia is giving out 7 offers for every BYU offer!!!) with in-state leading with 19 followed by California/AZ/HI
UCF predictably goes HEAVY in-state followed by neighboring prep factory Georgia and Texas in 3rd
