SAN FRANCISCO – The Pac-12 Conference has imposed disciplinary actions against Arizona State Men’s Basketball head coach Bobby Hurley and student-athletes Jay Heath and Jalen Graham for inappropriate conduct toward the officiating crew at the conclusion of Arizona State’s game at Stanford on Saturday, Jan. 22, Pac-12 Commissioner George Kliavkoff announced.
Hurley has been publicly reprimanded, fined $20,000 and is suspended for the Sun Devils’ next game on Monday, Jan. 24 at USC for verbally confronting an official as they attempted to exit the court following the conclusion of the contest.
Heath has been publicly reprimanded and is suspended for Monday’s game at USC for verbally confronting and making contact with an official attempting to exit the court.
Graham has been publicly reprimanded for verbally confronting an official as they attempted to exit the court.
“The actions of the head coach and student-athletes were in clear violation of the Conference’s standards of conduct, and will not be tolerated,” said Commissioner Kliavkoff. “The Pac-12 and its membership has established regulations requiring all institutional personnel, especially head coaches, to conduct themselves in a sporting manner, and those involved in this situation failed to meet those standards.”
Proceeds of the fine will go toward the Pac-12 student-athlete scholarship fund.
