TEMPE, Ariz. - The Sun Devil football team returns to Camp Tontozona, August 11-15.

Fans (and media) who wish to attend this year’s Maroon & Gold practice at Camp Tontozona should be aware of a few travel, traffic, and parking details for 2015.

The Camp Tontozona Maroon & Gold practice will be held on Saturday, Aug. 15 at 10 a.m. The Sun Devil football team will take the field at approximately 9:30 a.m., and will begin practicing at 10 a.m. ASU is expecting a very large crowd this year. Fans are encouraged to allow for extra travel and parking time due to the large crowd that is expected.

Due to the possibility of inclement mountain weather, fans should be prepared should rain move into the area.

Parking for the general public for Saturday, Aug. 15 will be in a closed section on the eastbound side of SR260 near Camp Tontozona Road. Please follow the message boards, speed limit, and event parking signs on SR260 to the designated event parking areas.

  • Coming from Phoenix/Payson, please keep right on SR 260 once you leave Star Valley. As drivers approach mile marker 267 they should merge to the right and proceed through the traffic restrictions and follow signs to the designated event parking area.
  • Coming westbound on SR 260 from point’s east, drivers will be asked to turn left at Camp Tontozona Rd. Gila County Sherriff’s will assist with traffic turning across SR 260. Please follow the signs and DO NOT use Christopher Creek Rd. or Spring Creek Rd.
Parking attendants will be at both entrance locations to direct guests to the correct parking area.

Parking for disabled guests: Those displaying a plate or placard will be directed to park along Camp Tontozona Road. The disabled parking area is limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

There will be a limited number of shuttle carts for limited mobility and disabled guests who may need assistance. Due to the expected large crowd and high volume of traffic, the shuttle service could potentially have a long wait. Fans are encouraged to walk into Camp Tontozona from the parking areas.

ASU encourages fans to car pool and share rides to Camp Tontozona.

Please note that alcohol, glass containers, and pets are prohibited from Camp Tontozona grounds.
