While all indications that Lucien will be eligible to play for ASU immediately, just wanted to point a couple of items on this:
UCLA as some of you may know is on the quarter system, and that quarter ends on June 12th. So it won’t be until mid-June or so until Lucien would officially earn his degree from UCLA.
Now only when he gets his degree, will UCLA officially sign his release allowing him to transfer to ASU. Needless to say that all indications up to this point are that UCLA will go ahead and allow that transfer. But if they change their mind, then this obviously creates a new reality concerning this situation.
So I’m posting this just in case he isn’t eligible to play immediately at ASU. Again, I have no reason to believe that he won’t be able to suit up for the Sun Devils in the fall, but it’s worth noting what is the process that needs to take place for this to happen.
