Every one of Arizona State's demons made an appearance in the first half against Washington. Well, almost every demon anyway- the Sun Devils never had an opportunity to struggle inside the red zone, because they never paid the red zone a visit.
Mike Bercovici struggled with accuracy, pass protection was below average, situational playcalling was questionable, the run game was absent, DJ Foster was uninvolved, arm-tackling was plentiful, and the defensive backs were getting beat on deep routes. In a season where each one of these occurrences has caused the Sun Devil faithful headaches and heartbreak- seeing all forces of football evil working together in perfect disharmony while Washington built a 17-0 lead had to feel like the final straw.
And then came the injuries.
