Arizona State went from offering three-star DE Miki Suguturaga and three star CB Langston Frederick (around July 22nd) to not offering another player for two months. That recently changed when they offered 2018 Georgia QB Justin Fields
To be fair, that offer was part of 7 teams piling on in two weeks. Fields is the most popular 2018 recruit right now. Here's why.
Chip Lindsey already has both hands full with 2018 QB recruits who are interested in playing football at ASU- a position that might not even be of need if only one QB transfers at the end of this season. Brevin White and Dorian Thompson Robinson are still in play, and if Lindsey operates this year as he did last, expect 5-7 more offers to go out to 2018's after the season. I think one could be Jack Plummer of Gilbert. I'm pretty sure another might be Adrian Martinez.
It's interesting to me that ASU has gone this long without extending offers (that we know about).
There is one offer that interestingly enough has gone unreported- Arizona State, according to a couple sources, and an easily verifiable search of Twitter, has re-extended it's uncommittable offer to Texas safety Ashton Logan. If you remember, Logan's coaches were pissed, and publicly threatened that the entire state of Texas would punish Graham for revoking an offer they all knew wasn't committable.
One of his coaches implied that offers would pour in because Logan had refused to talk to so many programs due to his Sun Devils pledge. The offer that poured in? Central Arkansas.
Here's the think though. Logan is really really good. 18 solo tackles and 4 interceptions in 4 games from the strong safety position. We'll see what happens here.
Anyway- back to football.... sort of. It's crazy to me that basketball managed to offer so many players while the football staff has been in evaluation mode. Here are all the basketball offers that have gone out in the last 2 months:
