Weather: It was a cloudy, chilly day at Tempe Friday, the first bowl practice under new ASU offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey.

Stretch Song: "Classic Man (Remix)" by Jidenna ft. Kendrick Lamar, "March Madness" by Future

Green non-contact jerseys: Kalen Ballage, Nick Ralston, Dillo Faamatau, Cam Smith, Deonte Reynolds, Armand Perry

Kalen Ballage, though wearing green, was essentially a full participant in most drills Friday. Not sure why he was in the no-contact jersey.

Kody Kohl remained on crutches with a brace on his right knee and didn't participate.

Absent: Laiu Moeakiola (unknown)

Guests: Chandler HS head coach Shaun Aguano and staff, 2016 DB commit Robbie Robinson, redshirt senior safety Jordan Simone (post-surgery)

In the first day under its new offensive coordinator, there were no major changes in the first and second teams. Here's how the first team lined up in team tempo:

OFFENSE - Mike Bercovici (QB), Demario Richard (RB), Devin Lucien (WR), Gary Chambers (WR), Tim White (WR), Raymond Epps (TE/H-back), Evan Goodman (LT), Christian Westerman (LG), Nick Kelly (C), Vi Teofilo (RG), Billy McGehee (RT)

DEFENSE - JoJo Wicker (DL), Tashon Smallwood (DL), Demetrius Cherry (DL), Antonio Longino (DEVIL), Christian Sam (WILL), Salamo Fiso (SAM), James Johnson (SPUR), Lloyd Carrington (BC), Kweishi Brown (FC), Kareem Orr (BS), Solomon Means (FS)

Highlights: The opening 11-on-11 session saw the offense take control after Bercovici found Chambers on a quick slant and he split the safeties for a big gain. Naturally, more emphasis was put on the offense today. There was another play where Berco made a nice throw to White (who had BURNED Brown) but the pass was dropped.

11-on-11 play wrapped up on a quick red zone drill. It took just one play for the offense to score, as Bercovici found Epps on a throwback pass much like ASU's score against Cal.

Additional notes:

- Ken Dillingham, a GA who spent much of the last week on the recruiting trail, was shadowing Lindsey at just about every drill he was at.

- It didn't take long for Lindsey to start bringing in his own flair to things, as the quarterbacks tried a drill for the first time. It was a pocket presence drill in which the quarterback has five balls, and has to take the snap, drop back and find his man before the next ball is snap. The key is, the "man" they must find is at the discretion of Lindsey and not announced until after the ball has been snapped.

- There were a pair of nice leaping grabs made during the individual drill sessions. On one, Ellis Jefferson made a leaping grab near the sideline over Brown and got both feet in. Devin Lucien added a nice leaping catch later in the practice.

- With an official opponent on the docket in West Virginia, ASU went back to the yellow jerseys for the scout teamers.

- 4-star running back Kareem Walker is expected to be at ASU practice on his official visit tomorrow.

As always, feel free to ask me any questions you have.
