I talked to Rand before he left for Madison, where his mom was a student before finishing up at ASU. I'm not surprised that this was his choice on multiple fronts- ASU hasn't always had the easiest time getting his attention, and Wisconsin is where the big boys go to do big boy things. He wants to see if, like Taylor Lewan, he can head to the Big-10 and make it out there.
