TEMPE, Ariz. – After his record-breaking night in San Antonio on Friday, senior place kicker Zane Gonzalez earned the Lou Groza Award 'Star of the Week', announced the Palm Beach County Sports Commission on Monday.

Early in the second quarter, Gonzalez hit his second field goal of four on the night, breaking the Pac-12 record for points scored in a career with his 416th, passing UCLA's Ka'imi Fairbarn's total of 413 set in 2015. By the end of the game, the Deer Park, Texas native extended his record to 424 points (81 FGs, 179 PATs, 2-point conversion).

The first two field goals from Gonzalez were from 54 yards out, which were both career longs for him and made him 3-for-3 on the season from 50-plus yards. That feat made him the first Sun Devil in history to kick more than one 50-yarder in a single game, which comes after not having any in his career prior to the 2016 campaign. He is also the only player currently in the FBS to have hit multiple 50-yard field goals so far this season.
