Here are some of the things that Jedd Fisch has learned, according to the newspaper down here, from many prominent head coaches he served under, on his way up the ladder, to the head coach at AU...

I will paraphrase what he learned from them...

From Steve Spurrier..."treat every down like third down...just because you get three downs doesn't mean you need to take them all...gain momentum at every opportunity"

From Mike Shanahan..."make sure that your offense is married...marry your running game to your passing game...marry one passing scheme to one protection scheme"...

From Sean McVay..."be a great communicator to make sure that everyone is on the same page (at all times)"...

From Pete Carroll..."always compete as the whole game is about competition (at every moment, position, play, etc)"...

From Jim Harbaugh
..."attack each day with enthusiasm unknown to mankind...if you wake up and attack the day, it's amazing how those int he program will get behind you"...

From Bill Belichick..."insist on smart, tough, physical football because, if you do, you will find ways to win a lot of games"...

Belichick also insisted that his assistants and coordinators be experts at what they do that allows you, as head coach, to let them do their work without interference...EMPOWER THEM...

I don't think Herm would disagree with anything that Jedd pointed out except, maybe, what Spurrier said, but what do you think..??

My favorite quote is from Harbaugh about attacking each day with unbridled enthusiasm...

Being retired now, I also attack napping with total enthusiasm...Go Devils!!!
