Reading between the lines, it seems like Hurley doesn't want to run as much as they have in the past. He's saying that defense is a bigger focus and seems to suggest that they won't be as eager to steal and push in the open floor. KenPom's recently posted projections has ASU at 18th fastest at 75.5 adjusted tempo, which is right in line with the last couple years.

By year....

2021 (proj): 18th fastest
2020: 21st fastest
2019: 14th fastest
2018: 47th fastest
2017: 43rd fastest
2016: 79th fastest
2015: 181st fastest

That said, where do you think ASU comes in this year? Top 20 tempo? Top 50? Or perhaps a return to Hurley's first year, when ASU was merely an average tempo team?
