While playing NCAA 14 I was thinking what would I do if I was in charge of the NCAA. Here are some of my ideas/rules.
No school should leave conference unless it was to go to a smaller conference and would have to be approved by NCAA and the conferences involved. If school still choses to leave for a conference (Like a Pac 12 School going to a BIG 10 school or Big 12 going to SEC) the school involved would have to pay a fine of the amount of money that it would be getting if they were to change conference's and lost of scholarships.
Referee's would be held accountable for no/bad calls and will be disciplined depending on the severity of the call.
All challenges will be reviewed in the booth at the game. No replay personal should have a connection with schools involved in game. All reviews will be reviewed by NCAA and determined if correct call was made and subject to discipline action if was determine was not the right call.
All NIL will be approved by NCAA and paid the same. All starters will make the same, second strings will get paid less and make the same, and so forth........
If player excepts NIL deal, player will no longer have scholarship and will be given to who is in need of scholarship.
Teams will no longer HAVE to do pre game or post game interviews. Teams can decide if they want to do interviews.
Smaller schools can be invited to bigger conferences but with approval of the NCAA. School must prove it can be competitive in conference regardless of size of school.
Fall camp will no longer be called fall camp unless it's ACTUALLY in the fall (but it's during the season so this should not be necessary)
If marching band continues to play the same song during the game (more then five times) . Referee has right to give stop game and give verbal warning. If it happens again, a 5 yard penalty to the team will be given until marching band stops.
All players and coaches will honor contracts. No leaving school unless approved by NCAA and school. No job hopping or transfer hopping without approval.
All players are expected to play in bowl games (if team is in bowl game) No "not participating in bowl game to prepare for the NFL draft". Players must be suited up and be in the game at least 5 times at their rightful position.
NCAA investigations will not take longer then two years. Investigations will be done in a timely manner.
Parents involved in illegal recruiting activity will no longer be allowed to attend their child's game.
All rivalry games will be at the end of the season unless it is their rivalry games tradition to be played at a certain time of year.
All "cupcake games" will be teams first game of the season. Out of conference games will be played week two and three unless it's an Independent School during the regular schedule.
All schools will have the same size coaching staff. No NFL size coaching staff.
If TV network gets schools mixed up during game (example: calling ASU Arizona and not State) Tv Network will make a written apology and read it live on air and be fined. Money will be used for that particular school's scholarship fund.
No more Thursday or Friday night games (unless it's a bowl game) Thursday and Friday night games will be for smaller conferences games.
All players being used in any college football video games will get a paid a certain amount and money will be towards school until they have graduated.
Ok got carried away. I know it's long but just stuff I were running NCAA.
