Now, I know that ASU pressured constantly, and that it felt like the defensive front didn't get through enough on their own, but the Sun Devils did lead the entire NCAA in sacks per game last year at 3.54, so you have to give Shipp SOME credit.

I'm going to throw a few names that immediately came to mind after the news leaked today. The last time I did this, Chip Lindsey was one of the names I dropped, so odds are I'll totally nail this.

Buddy Wyatt- SMU DL coach

He's worked for RC Slocum, and has coached at Alabama and all over the Big 12. Has coached
Adam Carriker, Rocky Bernard, Ty Warren, Justin Bannon, Tyler Brayton, Johnny Jolly and more.

Marty Long- Northwestern DL coach

Has been at Northwestern for 8 seasons- was at Arizona for their 12-1 year and worked under Mike Hankwitz, an RC Slocum disciple.

Osia Lewis- San Diego State DL coach

San Diego State's defense has been impressive as of late, and Lewis has been around a long time. He's loyal to Rocky Long, but might be worth a look here.

Jim Jeffcoat- Colorado DL coach

All of the obvious reasons. An ASU legend. A legend in the state of Texas. The only thing is, he actually makes more money at Colorado than Shipp made here.

I personally like Inoke Breckterfield, Wisconsin's DL coach, but considering he was an emergency hire at Pitt when Graham left, I'm not sure how reasonable that would be. I'm also a fan of Houston DL coach Oscar Giles. I think that whole staff has done a great job recruiting as of late.

Chris Wilson would have been a solid pickup if he didn't cause this whole mess by leaving USC for Mizzou and then jumping to the Philadelphia Eagles.
