I watched most of the Texans game today and Strong had an excellent showing. He led the team in receiving with 5 catches for 40 yards and 1 touchdown. He showed great hands on a couple of bad throws still being able to adjust and haul them in. He put a nice move on his defender, getting himself wide open for his TD catch. I also noticed when getting lined up on a couple of occasions he was telling other WRs where they needed to be lined up. Strong was getting some good air time and good compliments from the announcers as well talking about how his injury slowed him down in training camp but that he has really started to come on the last couple of weeks. Very good outing for him today and hopefully his trajectory continues. If only the Texans had a good QB, lol.
With that said, I did notice he got jammed hard on a few plays and seems to need to continue on his hand work to get through the press coverage. One sequence in particular backed up close to their own goal line, he got jammed up bad twice in a row, but then did a good job fighting through it the 3rd time, even though the ball didn't come his way and they ended up punting. He also seemed to do well with his blocking assignments when needed which was good to see.
Anyway else see the game today? Thoughts, impressions?
