FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. - Arizona State senior quarterback Manny Wilkins has earned a spot on yet another preseason watch list, this time being one of 106 student-athletes to be named to The Wuerffel Trophy Watch List announced Thursday morning.

The Wuerffel Trophy, known as "College Football's Premier Award for Community Service," is presented annually at the All Sports Association's Awards Banquet in Fort Walton Beach. Named after 1996 Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Danny Wuerffel from the University of Florida, the Wuerffel Trophy is awarded to the FBS player that best combines exemplary community service with athletic and academic achievement.

The honor comes on the heels of Wilkins being named to the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team® last week.

During his time as an Arizona State student-athlete, Wilkins has demonstrated leadership qualities both on and off the field through his involvement with numerous activities through the Sun Devils Serve program. Most recently, Wilkins has worked to develop leadership initiatives for Sun Devil football, including setting up a summer community outreach program.

The formal announcement of the 2018 recipient will be made at the National Football Foundation's press conference in New York City on December 4. The presentation of the 2018 Wuerffel Trophy will occur at the 50th All Sports Association Awards Banquet on February 15, 2019 in Fort Walton Beach.

For Wilkins, Thursday's honor marks his third preseason watch list appearance entering 2018 after being named to the Davey Obrien and Maxwell award watch lists last week.
