ATTIRE:
Shells

LOCATION: Verde Dickey Dome

GUESTS It looked like there was a scout representing the Atlanta Falcons at practice today. Spent most of his time with eyes on WR Tim White.

AVAILABILITY: ~ 25 minutes
EN VERDE (No contact):
OL Marshal Nathe, OL Tyson Rising, OL AJ McCollum, DB Maurice Chandler, LB Christian Sam, TE Tommy Hudson, TE Jay Jay Wilson.

TILLMAN JERSEY: WR Tim White

NOTABLES:

-Texas WR transfer Ryan Newsome was at practice today, wearing shorts and no pads but still going through wide receiver drills and working in the rotation on punt returns. He’s not eligible this year, but these reps are valuable since he won’t have many meaningful ones as a member of the practice squad this season.

OFFENSE:

-Ball security drills opened up practice again, with WRs coach Jay Norvell working on body position while carrying the ball.

-For the second consecutive practice, the only “team” drills shown during media availability was one series of tempo with the offense facing no defense. Here’s how they lined up:

FIRST-TEAM OFFENSE: Manny Wilkins (QB), Kalen Ballage (RB), Tim White (WR), Ellis Jefferson/Jalen Harvey (WR), Kody Kohl (TE), Raymond Epps (TE), Evan Goodman (LT), Sam Jones (LG), Stephon McCray (C), Zach Robertson (RG), Quinn Bailey (RT)

SECOND-TEAM OFFENSE: Brady White (QB), Jacom Brimhall (RB), Cam Smith (WR), Fred Gammage (WR), Raymond Epps (TE), Jared Bubak (TE), Mason Walter (LT), Connor Humphreys (LG), Cohl Cabral (C), Cade Cote (RG), Steven Miller (RT).

Notes: Wilkins led the first team, and White led the second team, for the second consecutive day without a single rep from Bryce Perkins or Dillon Sterling-Cole during the time the media was able to watch practice. Wilkins drove the team against no defense, but couldn’t convert what looked to be a back shoulder throw for Harvey. Wide receiver N’Keal Harry rotated in with the second team in Bubak’s spot, catching a 15-yard post for a touchdown from White.

“H” Drill

The “H” drill, which is a variation of the Oklahoma drill, made its season practice debut on Monday. It’s a Todd Graham favorite, and the competition certainly seemed up to par. The offensive line as a whole looked good save for an impressive swim move from DL Rennell Wren, as I didn’t see the defense force a single tackle for a loss. Things got a bit chippy though, as some jawing involving Evan Goodman led to a relatively big scuffle. It was handled quickly, and it didn’t look like things lingered.
