I talked with Marshal Nathe Friday night- a couple of you had asked about DB Isaac Steele. I asked Nathe about Steele, and was in studio at 98.7 Saturday morning when Steele called in to the show. Steele says he's had communication with ASU & U of A. Nathe is hoping Steele follows him to Tempe.
"I love Isaac. He's one of the best players I know. There's talk of him following me to ASU, or him going to another big college. Hopefully he gets some offers. He's a stud. He's one of my best friends and a guy I love. He'll always ball out, that's for sure."
I had written that Nathe looked great when blocking, but had some issues in space- here's what he had to say about that.
"One thing I did feel is that I was in really good shape. One thing I need to work on is my footwork. Those linebackers were quick, especially big ol' (Josh Brown). He can juke from side to side very well, and I just have to find a way to keep up with guys like him."
Here's what Centennial coach Richard Taylor had to say about Nathe.
"He's just continued to grow. An area where he's really improved is he's a real strong leader now- he's one of our captains. Sometime when a kid commits early they kind of back off. He didn't. He played offense and defense tonight, encouraged everyone, and had a great game."
