So Obert publishes this article today wherein he discusses Texas A&M's recent turmoil and how it might affect (or, more accurately, not affect) Murphy's decision. In the article he quotes Mohns extensively.
In October, prior to N'Keal's commitment and just after N'Keal and Murphy officially visited A&M, Obert's line was "EXTRA, EXTRA!!! Harry and Murphy are a Package Deal!!!"

"They both say they want to be a package deal, something they’ve talked about since they were sophomores at Marcos de Niza. 'It started at Marcos de Niza, saying we’re going to play college together,' Murphy said. 'We always planned on going to official visits together. So we took our two official visits to Washington and Texas A&M. We had all of our questions answered. We always talked about going to college together and we’re going to stick with our plan.'”
Now that Harry has committed to ASU, in the article published today, Mohns, when asked essentially if Harry and Murphy are still a package deal, said:
"Not at all ... I think Byron has kind of come to terms to the fact that he needs to do what is best for him. It's great to play with your friends, but he needs to make a decision that is best for him. If it with them, then that's great. But he has to do this for him."
After Harry and Lucas committed to ASU, ASU was looking good for Murphy. N'Keal and Murphy were openly stating that they wanted to play together and they officially visited ASU together. Then, all of the sudden, Murphy has cooled on ASU and we now have Mohns openly talking about "Murphy needing to do what is best for him even if that means not playing with his buddies" and having one positive thing to say about ASU.
You are as connected to the HS players and coaches as anyone. Candidly, is Mohns nudging his players toward A&M or more generally, away from ASU?
