As incredible as it might seem to us ASU fans, down here in Tucson, there are many fans wondering about Miller's coaching abilities as the Cats "only" made it to the Elite 8 and didn't make it once more to the Final Four...
He is basically a failure because he didn't go to the Final Four and win a national championship despite winning the PAC during the season and the PAC tournament and finishing at 34-4 (90%)...
Not only that but the program is stuck in neutral because since 2001 the Cats have five straight (count 'em up) Elite Eight losses (2003, 2005, 2011, 2014 and 2015)...
Obviously, all the grown ups in Tucson don't act like that but it is pretty funny stuff...
If Herb had taken us to five straight NCAA tournament appearances like he did at NC State we'd be building a statute of him outside WFA and thinking how lucky we were to have him at ASU...
If he had taken us to the Elite 8 we would be sending his name to the Vatican for possible sainthood...
Herb did beat the Cats again which provided the wake up call the Cats needed to start playing up to their potential according to some players...
Gabe York explained "Coach Miller just put it on us...if you guys want to leave a legacy, you've gotta be better and you can't lose to a team like ASU"...
Now, we're looking for another coach to upgrade and energize our program and if we should be so lucky to end up with a Sean Miller sort of hire we would feel so very fortunate...
I'm sure that Jeff Capel will be offered the job and probably take it unless he feels that the ASU job would just be a dead end for he and his family...
It would be nice for a change to actually look forward to something positive at ASU, rather than have to get most of our satisfaction from seeing the Cats lose a game or two and fail to reach their high goals...
That said...Sean Miller is a terrible coach and should be thrown out of Tucson on the nearest freight train...
