Hey Sun Devil Fans,
I know this is mostly where people have been posting about Sun Devil football and basketball, but I want to take the time to shed some light on a program that receives FAR less media attention. That sport is gymnastics.
The Sun Devil Women's gymnastics team is coached by Jay Santos, who is in his second year of rebuilding the program. The team really is something special and has some huge skills, produces entertaining routines, and has some really talented athletes.
The team just posted their highest score since 2014, when they scored a 196.2 against BYU. Today, they posted a 196.475, which has not been done since they scored a 196.475 to beat Oregon State in 2008.
The team is something special. They are talented. They are exciting. They need some support. They travel to take on Sanford next week, but will return to Wells Fargo on Sunday, Jan. 28th against Cal at noon. If you could make it out, tickets are fairly inexpensive and it's a very family-friendly atmosphere. These girls deserve a packed house just like the mens hoops team.
If you haven't had a chance to watch them, or even if you know absolutely nothing about gymnastics, I promise you'll be amazed. These girls are something amazing.
