Howdy Mates...
Today's Topic = Progress..??
The PAC brass took their sweet time about it but I guess we can now look forward to some Sun Devil football in another six weeks or thereabouts...
Obviously, as noted here and elsewhere, there was no sense of urgency about resuming sports in the conference by our leadership, at any level...
However, I do think that if their paychecks had been at issue that the matter would've been taken care of weeks ago, if not sooner...
Nothing like ponderous deliberation to make really sure that we were ready to go without further delay...
My guess is that if the Big Ten had not decided to restart their engines that the PAC may not have been able to play sports again until whenever...
In the meantime, thankfully, we can now watch the SEC play, with the Pirate now roaming the southern seas, plundering teams like the defending national champs, the LSU Tigers, on their home field, no less...
Coach Ed Orgeron and his team were made to walk the plank by the Pirate and his crew of MSU Bulldogs, lead by Stanford transfer QB KJ Costello, who threw for over 600 yards on the day...
And, today, we get to see several NFL games, so things are starting to feel a little bit more like normal, even without the fans, although several college teams had some fans in the stands yesterday...
While we wait for the conference schedule to be released sometime this week you can go to the Sun Devil website and check out the roster that has updated weights for each player, etc...
It looks like several of the players have gone from young studs to real big men during the past year...
For instance, along the OL Dohnovan West is now listed at 6'3" 315 and Ladarius Henderson is listed at 6'4" 305...
Along the DL we have Stephon Wright listed at 6'3" 300, Tyler Johnson at 6'4" 285, Omarr-Norman Lott at 6'3" 305, and Jermayne Lole at 6'1" 310...
We also have TE Nolan Matthews listed at 6'4" 260 and QB Jayden Daniels at 6'3" 185...
Some of our WRs are listed as being much bigger than I remember as do some DBs and LBs...
So, maybe we'll do okay this season...
Anyway, it is nice to be back in the saddle once more...
Well, better get back to the Cards game against Detroit that constitutes real progress these days...
G'day Mates and Go Devils!!!
