and it's PAINFUL to see it happening at Auburn because they had an AD who thinks outside the box and probably made the best hire in the history of their program and possibly the best hire in all of college basketball the last few years...including this year.
There's always more than one way to make things happen but the Bruce Pearl way would have been as close to a guaranteed slam dunk, walk off grand slam, jael-mary TD catch, we're going to win a national championship, hire as there ever was. It was the ultimate no brainer that didn't need the advantage of 20/20 hindsight as anybody wh knows college basketball knew he'd be hugely successful.
Hopefully whomever we get can reach the fans and boosters with similar effectiveness. Who isn't to cool to have fun in a sport that exudes it and with a fan base that needs it. I'm hoping that Capel, Lavin, Pastner or whoever we hire not only understands this but has the innate ability to accomplish this.
