Now that the roster is set in stone for spring. Aside from any new surprise additions, I wanted to hear everyone's thoughts. The starting lineup heading into spring looks to be.
* = new player
QB: Trenton Bourguet
RB: Tevin White
WR: Elijhah Badger
WR: Xavier Guillory *
WR-S(slot): Gio Sanders
TE: Jalin Conyers
LT: Isaia Glass
LG: Ben Coleman *
C: Leif Fautanu *
RG: Joey Ramos
RT: Aaron Frost *
Edge: Prince Dobrah
DT: Dashaun Mallory
DT: BJ Green *
Edge: Anthonie Cooper *
LB: Travion Brown
LB: Will Shafer??
CB: Ro Torrence *
CB: Ed Woods *
NB: Jordan Clark *
S: Chris Edmonds *
S: Shamari Simmons??
The positions I feel really good about are WR, TE, CB, and Safety. I like who we have returning in those positions as well as the depth.
* For TE, I think Swinson + Conyers will be a major problem for opponents. I think Swinson will be a major red-zone threat and Conyers will have an amazing year. Then we have Jacob Newell returning from injury last year who seems to be someone to keep an eye on.
* For WR, Elijhah Badger and Gio Sanders are both great returning pieces. We saw how good Gio can be last year down South. I also think Badger will absolutely dominate in this new offense. X 2.0 seems like a guy who is determined to have a great season.
* For CB, I am glad we have Ro Torrence and Ed Woods returning. They were actually pretty underrated last year and had pretty good seasons. Jordan Clark seems like he will take the nickle spot and he is also important as a leader for the secondary.
* For S, I think Chris Edmonds is very underrated, and with the number of safeties we brought in, I am confident we will fill that other spot.
The position that intrigues me the most is obviously QB. The competition is very interesting. Whether it is Pyne or Bourguet I feel very confident with whoever gets that starting spot based on Dillingham's track record.
The position I am most concerned about is the DL. I don't know what to expect from them. But I trust Brian Ward based on his past success to get the most out of them.
I would love to hear what anyone else has to say!
