Practice was in the bubble this morning due to the soggy fields from last night's rain.
Song of the day was Versace by Migos (feat Drake), just based on the last couple of days the players are winning the battle with the coaches over who controls the speakers.
Supporting The Irish (Green Jerseys): Laui Moakiola, Fred Gammage, Cam Smith, Jalen Harvey, Armand Perry (still on crutches), Dillon Faamatua
Moakiola's dealing with a nagging shoulder injury (presumably the same one as last year), I have yet to re-watch the New Mexico game, but I know people on here have mentioned that his arm was limp and he was nursing it throughout the entirety of the 4th quarter.
DJ Calhoun had a wrap on one of his hands.
Devin Lucien looked 100% going through drills but we only saw a limited portion of practice.
Marcus Ball wasn't at practice today.
Small note, but freshman Tommy Hudson was one of the three tight ends not on the scout team.
Quarterbacks spent the drill period catching high snaps, and diving forward.
The situational drive was a lot of fun today.
Offense: Mike Bercovici (QB), Demario Richard (RB), Tim White (WR), Gary Chambers (WR), D.J. Foster (WR), Kody Kohl (TE), Evan Goodman (LT), Christian Westerman (LG), Nick Kelly (C), Vi Teofilo (RG), and Billy McGehee (RT)
Second day in a row Goodman's ahead of Sam Jones and that Nick Kelly took reps over McCray.
First-team defense: JoJo Wicker (Tiger), Demetrius Cherry (Nose), Edmond Boateng (DE), D.J. Calhoun (WILL), Antonio Longino (DEVIL), Ismael Murphy-Richardson (DEVIL), Lloyd Carrington (CB), Kweishi Brown (CB), Solomon Means (CB), Jordan Simone (S), and Kareem Orr (S)
Salamo Fiso and Moakiola rotated in at LB and Chad Adams at safety.
Didn't hear a "situation", but the offense started out on their own 30.
First play Kohl ran out of the H-back spot, caught an out and ran about 12 yards downfield before getting pushed out by Orr.
Second down both the tackles got pushed back, but Bercovici continuing his dual-threat tendencies stepped up and sprinted 15 yards before getting tagged down.
Graham called a time out to set up what might have been my favorite situational drive moment of the year.
Starting on the about the 40, Ellis Jefferson beat Kweshi Brown off the line and had a step on him heading straight to the end zone, Bercovici short armed it, Kweshi almost made a tough pick, but instead tipped it up, Jefferson juggled it before bringing it down and diving into the end zone.
The whole sideline erupted and the catch left one scout teamer repeatedly muttering under his breath "That $**t was crazy."
The play was reminiscent of the crazy carom touchdown pass last week Ole Miss had against Alabama
Shoutout to SID Mark Brand who pointed out that comparison
Graham wanted to set up a field goal, so he sent the starting offense back out to about the 30. Tim White quickly caught a 10 yard pass and Graham put the field goal block unit out.
Zane Gonzalez put it through the uprights, but he was absolutely harassed. Kalen Ballage looking perfectly healthy hurdled the line and made a leaping attempt at the ball.
