That's the latest article in Jon Wilner's PAC-12 Hotline series in today's Daily Star...

"The NCAA's committee on infractions will provide the epilogue in its own sweet time. But ASU has published the final chapter of the Herm Edward's Era. It's a tale of horror and hubris, destruction and mayhem, co-authored by president Michael Crow and AD Ray Anderson"...

He goes on to say that Kenny Dillingham and his team were "blindsided" by the bowl ban just five days before their first game that left the team and fans with a barrage of questions that neither Crow or Anderson have any intention of answering, as they will hide behind what the school called its membership obligation to the NCAA to maintain confidentiality in the matter.

As a result, both Crow and Ray "will not be commenting further at this time"...

"Their obligations to the team's players are a secondary concern"...

The next subheading asks why ASU hired the Herminator in the first place and then implement the disastrous "New Leadership Model"...

Of course, the easy answer to that is that Ray and Herm were close friends and former business partners...

"It was a personal joy ride for the AD, and it left the football program in a state of devastation"...

"History will judge Ray Anderson's decision as an administrative failure for the ages"...

The next subheading asks why the bowl ban happened now and not in 2022 when Herm was still in charge...

"The only explanation, based on the available evidence, is that Anderson did not want to tarnish Herm's legacy"...

"Not only that but Ray also then doubled-down on their friendship by reaching a $4.4 million departure settlement with Herm"...

"That's right. The school paid $4.4 million to a coach who was under investigation for major recruiting violations during the COVID dead period"...

"Obviously, Crow signed off on the settlement but we're left to ask...where was the fiduciary obligation to the university?"...

"Spending that amount on a buyout when they could have spent -0- for terminating Herm with cause strikes us a fiscally irresponsible"...

Additional subheadings ask these questions...

Why wait until five days before the season opener to announce the bowl ban..??

Also, why impose the bowl ban at all..??

Why should Dilly ever trust Ray again as this action was wrong on so many levels it is beyond comprehension...

It goes on and on so you should read it for yourself and I'm sorry I cannot link it for you but maybe someone else here can...

IMHO, there is a massive amount of "corruption" that has taken place in the ASU athletic dept that may never be addressed by either Crow or Ray, and they may not have to pay any consequences for their misfeasance and malfeasance, either, as far as I can tell...

It's disgraceful and one can only hope that some legal body will come forward to address this "corruption"...

IMHO, Wilner is spot on with his analysis of this horrid situation and I hope and trust that other journalists will follow suit and hound both Crow and Ray or better yet, hound the ABORs, until we get some satisfactory answers...

Have a good day and Go Devils!!!
