The morning action has wrapped up for day one, with six of ASU's eight wrestlers remaining unbeaten.

#33 seed Cael Valencia (174 pounds) defeated #32 Brody Baumann of Purdue, 5-0; Valencia then lost to #1 Mekhi Lewis (Va. Tech), 14-3

#8 Richie Figueroa (125) picked up a major decision over #25 Ethan Berginc (Army), 13-2

#24 Julian Chlebove (133) upset #9 Dominick Serrano (Northern Colorado), 4-1 with a takedown in the final seconds

#14 Jesse Vasquez (141) beat #19 Malyke Hines (Lehigh), 5-2

#2 Kyle Parco (149) beat Finn Solomon (Pitt), 5-4

#2 Jacori Teemer (157) beat Matty Bianchi (Little Rock), 7-3

#31 Tony Negron (184) nearly shocked #2 Isaiah Salazar (Minnesota), but lost 2-1

#4 Cohlton Schultz (HWT), defeated Nash Hutmacher (Nebraska), 10-3

The wrestling tournament is not single-elimination, so Valencia and Negron are not yet done.

The action will resume today at 4:00 p.m. AZ time., then there will be morning and evening sessions Friday and Saturday, with the championship rounds Saturday evening.
