Barring unforeseen circumstances, five of the eight official visitors for the Sun Devils are going to publicly announce their commitment by tomorrow. This means ASU will already have 10 pledges and a top 20 class. I know they can change over time but not many ASU teams have achieved that feat in years past when you think about how early we are in the recruiting process.

By the end of April we could see the number of commits rise to at least 12. And besides being an impressive number that accounts to more than half of the size of the recruiting class (strictly talking about high school players not transfers) you also think about the timing that is so important.

ASU can host recruits this weekend but cannot host again until May 31st. So, achieving that large number of pledges before you're handcuffed for virtually the entire month of May is huge. As a reminder, in terms of off-campus recruiting activities, there are no restrictions in terms of the number of days coaches can be out in May, but they can visit one school per day. So, they can perhaps use that time more on the 2026 class.

And to be clear there's no restriction on players who come on unofficial visits during the month of May. Furthermore, the list of visitors for this weekend, as well as the last weekend in May and the first one in June could change to the large number of 2025 commits.

ASU has been dealt a crappy hand, being subjected to further sanctions thanks to the actions of the previous staff. Yet, they are able to masterfully deal with that predicament. And let's not forget that they are still coming off a 3-9 season and I don't see too many teams in their situation pulling off what they did.
