Prior to yesterday's debacle against USC the Sun Devils appeared headed to the NIT as a #6 team in one of the four brackets consisting of 8 teams (32 teams total)...

They weren't assured of a spot yet as there is still a lot of conference tournaments going on which could've bounced the Devils out of consideration depending on how these tournaments played out...

The loss yesterday really hurt for obvious reasons...

Between the NCAA tournament and the NIT tournament there will be 100 NCAA schools represented at them...

The goal this season was to Return to the Dance and Advance which didn't happen and unfortunately their return to the PAC tournament ended in total disaster as ASU not only failed to advance as a #5 seed, but they also now have the dubious distinction of being the only team in the history of the PAC tournament to have lost to a #12 seed...

It would be nice for them to still get an NIT bid and it would be totally incomprehensible to go after a CBI spot if the NIT does not materialize...

Herb has already outsmarted two ASU ADs by getting undeserved contract extensions and RA would really look the fool if he permitted a CBI appearance at this point but this is ASU we're talking about so anything is possible I suppose...

It's really too bad that RA came to ASU just before the Sun Devils upset the Cats last season on Valentine's Day, as first impressions can be beguiling as we all know...

RA has by now figured out that his first very positive impression of Herb was indeed very deceptive and the coach is not what he thought he saw last year on Valentine's Day...

Unfortunately, that turned out to be one super expensive date that he had with Herb last year and one he'll being paying off for a long time...

Championships or Bust...Go Devils!!!
