I recently read an interview with Bo Moos and some of what he discusses got me thinking about the 2011 season. Namely, what IF Bolden and Magee never got injured? Would Erickson still be our coach today? Would he have at least coached the 2012 or 2013 team before getting canned? Had Erickson not been fired at the end of the 2011 season, would Graham have stuck it out at Pitt, and for how long?
My personal opinion is had we had a healthy Bolden and Magee for the 2011 season, Erickson would not have been fired at the end of the year. We still would have had a disappointing season given the preseason expectations, but probably would have beaten UCLA and uofa and Cal, and possible Wazzu too (I think that loss was more a mental issue that night than a personnel issue, hence my maybe).
I still think a lot of the issues with Erickson, mostly his lack of discipline and more miss than hit recruiting would have gotten him canned either 2012 or 13, no way I'd see him still being our coach today.
