TEMPE, Ariz. – Sun Devil Football season ticket holders may now renew their season tickets for the 2019 season. Renewals will be sent electronically and Loyalty Pricing is available exclusively to fans who renew by Feb. 21, 2019. Fans can also place their renewal deposit by logging on to their account at am.ticketmaster.com/sundevils.
Under first-year head coach Herm Edwards the Sun Devils won seven games (with a bowl game still to be played), finished runner-up in the Pac-12 South and kept the Territorial Cup in Tempe following last Saturday's thrilling, come-from-behind win over Arizona. Home wins over Top-20 teams Michigan State and Utah at newly reinvented Sun Devil Stadium were part of an impressive 5-1 home record. With several returning starters on both sides of the ball there are a lot of reasons to be excited in Tempe about 2019 Sun Devil Football.
Offensively, running back Eno Benjamin will return after a historic sophomore campaign in which the Doak Walker Award semifinalist compiled 1,524 rushing yards in the regular season with an opportunity to surpass Woody Green's school record set in 1972 with more 42 yards in the bowl game. Benjamin will be joined by a trio of returning playmakers in the form of wide receivers Kyle Williams, Frank Darby and Brandon Aiyuk.
Under the tutelage of defensive coordinator and Broyles Award Nominee Danny Gonzales, the defensive unit improved tremendously. Freshman linebacker Merlin Robertson returns as the anchor of a defense that did not allow more than 30 points until the eighth game of the season. One of six freshmen who started at least one game on the defensive side of the ball, Robertson became the first true freshman to lead the Sun Devils in tackles (77) since 2001. Cornerbacks Chase Lucas and Kobe Williams will return for their third consecutive season as the starting corner tandem in Tempe. Fellow freshman linebackers Darien Butler and Tyler Johnson came on strong as the season progressed and look primed for more responsibility in the defense next season.
Next year's home schedule includes contests against Oregon, USC, Washington State and Arizona.
