The MLB draft where the Sun Devils' Brett Lilek was chosen in the second round by the Marlins...he had good stuff obviously but had a somewhat up and down career at ASU...
Have any Tim Esmay players, he recruited and not inherited, been chosen in the first round of the draft..??
Meanwhile, the Cats had SS Kevin Newman drafted 19th overall by the Pirates and 2B Scott Kingery taken #48 by the Phillies...
Do you think that if Newman and Kingery had been playing for the Devils instead of the Cats that we'd be in the CWS right now..??
Of course, if the Cats had our pitching this year, to go along with their hitting, they'd probably be back in the CWS, right..??
The D-backs selected SS Dansby Swanson from Vanderbilt with the draft's first pick overall and he led Vandy to the national title last year and they have now advanced to the CWS again this year, thanks in large part to his continuing achievements at the school...
I'm not watching the D-backs much anymore as, aside from some players like Goldy, they aren't a pretty team to watch...I can't believe how much so many of these players make when they really don't produce all that much as far as I'm concerned...
Do any of you have the same problem..??
Also, what do you think about the Cats hire of Jay Johnson..?? Is he another Bobby Hurley type hire since he was only at Nevada for two years before going to AU..??
Additionally, any thoughts about Fullerton advancing to the CWS since we lost to them in 14 innings at their place...would we have beaten Louisville like they did on the road..??
Talking football...do you think Graham would use Kalen Ballage at D-Backer if he turned out to be the best guy at that position coming out of Camp T..??
