Hey guys, Wednesday morning marked Arizona State’s final practice open to the media before Saturday’s showdown at Oregon State. I was there and here is the report:

Let’s discuss some personnel updates first. ASU is relatively healthy, but there are a few notes you need to keep track of before reading the rest.

GREEN: QB Brady White, DB Chase Lucas, DB Das Tautalatasi, WR Kyle Williams

MUSLCE BEACH: OL Mason Walter

A couple notes: LB Christian Sam was limited today. He didn’t participate in team and tempo periods. In his place, as you’ll see later in the report, was Malik Lawal. And just like yesterday, second-team

LB Khaylan Thomas was in sneakers today, too. He was yesterday as well.

First-team offense:

QB: Manny Wilkins, RBs Kalen Ballage (Demario Richard rotated in during during 11-on-11), WRs N’Keal Harry, Kyle Williams, Jalen Harvey (did not participate during tempo drills), TE Ceejhay French-Love, LT Cohl Cabral, LG Sam Jones, C A.J. McCollum, RG Steven Miller, RT Zach Robertson

Second-team offense:

QB: Blake Barnett, RB Eno Benjamin, WRs Curtis Hodges, John Humphrey, Ryan Newsome, TE Tommy Hudson, LT Tyson Rising, LG Cade Cote, C Marshal Nathe, RG Alex Losoya, RT Quinn Bailey

First team defense:

DL: Tashon Smallwood, Renell Wren, JoJo Wicker

LB: A.J. Latu, DJ Calhoun, Malik Lawal

SPUR: J’Marcus Rhodes

DB: CB Chase Lucas, CB Kobe Williams, S Das Tautalatsi, S Chad Adams

Second team defense:

DL: Jalen Bates, Jordan Hoyt, Shannon Forman

LB: Jay Jay Wilson, Abe Thompson, Parker Higgins

SPUR: Tyler Whiley

DB: CB Darien Cornay, CB Alex Perry, S Langston Frederick, S Demonte King

TEAM PERIOD: ASU practiced third downs in this period.

I had a couple notes:

-On the first play, Manny Wilkins threw an incompletion.

-On another play, the offense once again didn’t convert. It was a pretty good showing for the defense today.

-On another occasion, the offense did convert with a Manny Wilkins completion. However, Ryan Newsome was wide open downfield. It would have been a big gain. The unit converted, but Newsome let out a yell because he knew he was so wide open.

The Sun Devils play in Corvallis on Saturday, a game they can't afford to take lightly. Stay tuned for our coverage the rest of the week and season.
