Texas A&M HC Kevin Sumlin was at Byron Murphy's basketball game last night. If there were questions about whether or not A&M was serious about Murphy, those have been answered. Saguaro has some other talent A&M could potentially be interested in down the road, so the trip had some peripheral benefits for Sumlin as well.
The Murphy race isn't over. He likes Washington (they had coaches at one of his games this week as well), but their depth is ridiculous and doesn't present the same opportunities as ASU. Texas A&M won't redshirt him either way. He'll come in and get snaps as a freshman, and then they'll realistically evaluate what to do with him in the way they did with Qualen Cunningham this season.
USC is in 4th place. His visit still isn't set yet, and I'm not sure he's a priority.
