6'6" 215 True frosh Duck from Eugene Sheldon HS
3 star recruit with offers from NAU/Montana State/Portland State/Oregon
has played in 4 FBS games in his career
3-5 70 yds, 0 INTs, 1 TD vs Wazzu
21-34 179 yds 1 INT, 2 TDs 6 carries/6 yds vs Udub
22-40 258 yds, 1 INT, 6 TDs, 9 carries/56 yds vs Cal
31-42 489 yds, 0 INTs, 4 TDs, 11 carries/23 yds vs ASU
I saw a bit of his game against Udub in a complete blowout and didn't think much about him.
I saw most of the Cal game and although Cal has a terrible D, he looked VERY good for a true frosh
Today was a perfect storm for stat building (playing against the worst pass D in FBS for multiple years and getting them while they are missing their 2 best LBs and 2 best DBs)
BUT....he was 20-24 for 320 with 3 TDs in the 1st half!!!
He faced a blitz approximately 23 times (including stacked LOS on 3 plays near the end zone). According to Helfrich that is more than twice as much as he will face against any other opponent
He not only never looked frazzled or confused, he showed the poise of a seasoned vet with a very good arm, very good touch and good athletic ability.
Above all he appears to have "it"
Again, he has played against terrible to pathetic defenses in 2 of his 3 extended action games, but it will be interesting to see how he progresses. He seems to have completely silenced the critics stating that Oregon hasn't been able to develop a QB since Mariota.
