Why anyone thought hiring an air raid guy to run a different offense was a good idea, I have no idea. Last year this offense could run the ball. I don't think Napier is a world beater, but come on. We have what should be a better Oline, better tight ends and that should result in better execution...nope.
I think the whole Herm Edwards experiment is asinine, but if you are going to go that direction why the hell would you do a logical hiring process for the defense, and be so lazy on the offensive side? Once Napier said no you needed to start over and do a national search and find someone with the background running the ball that Herm wants. You've got an OC over his head and a tight ends coach that is just BAD. I didn't mind the OLine hire, but it doesn't mesh with Likens.
Next week is going to look very similar as we play another defense built the same way. I expect another sub 100 yard performance and an L.
