This info comes from an article by Jon Santucci at tcpalm.com titled "How 14 NFL Playoff QBs Ranked As HS Recruits" dated 1-7-21...(so it was after the 2020 NFL season)
AFL
Patrick Mahommes - Chiefs - 3 star QB in HS - not highly recruited with only offers from Texas Tech, Houston and Rice - picked Texas Tech
Josh Allen - Bills - not ranked and not recruited coming out of HS - went JC route and was then only pursued by E Mich and Wyoming - picked Wyoming
Ben Roethelisberger - Steelers - not highly rated out of HS (before Rivals, etc, started rating players) - Ohio St showed interest but wanted him as a TE - he wanted to play QB so picked Miami, OH
Ryan Tannehill - Titans - 3 star QB in HS - went to Texas A&M where he played WR until moving to QB later
Lamar Jackson - Ravens - 4 star QB who elevated Louisville while there
Baker Mayfield - Browns - 3 star who walked on at Texas Tech before transferring to Oklahoma
Philip Rivers - Colts - 2 star QB who was recruited as TE by Auburn but went to NC State that was only school that wanted him as a QB
NFL
Aaron Rogers - Packers - not ranked or recruited out of HS as was judged as too small - went JC route where he excelled and then went to Cal
Drew Brees - Saints - 2 star who was lightly recruited and went to Purdue where he elevated their program while there
Russell Wilson - Seahawks - 3 star who ended up at NC State before transferring to Wisconsin
Alex Smith - Washington - 2 star who was lightly recruited and chose Utah just in time to team up with Urban Meyer
Tom Brady - Tampa Bay - before rankings took place by Rivals, etc - was highly recruited and choose Michigan - Rivals, when asked, subsequently thought he would be a low 4 star out of HS
Jared Goff - Rams - 4 star who starred at Cal and went on to be #1 draft choice by Rams
Michael Trubisky - Bears - 4 star who was highly recruited and picked North Carolina - picked ahead of Patrick Mahommes by Bears
So, what are some conclusions we can draw from this data..??
