Sleep Dalton is currently the 2nd ranked punter in the Pac (Stanford's Jake Bailey is at 45.77 but has 3 touchbacks) and the 11th in FBS (45.40 average with 5 punts per game)

I have looked at the 10 above him and I would argue that he has been the absolute BEST in FBS over the 1st 2 weeks.

He is tied for the lead in FBS in punts placed inside the 20 with 8 (the 3 he is tied with have 4, 6 & 6 more punts than he does)

His average per punt would be much higher if he had not been asked to punt 4 times with a maximum of 45 yards to a touchback.

He has ZERO touchbacks

His net punting average is 43.90

His long is 62 which is shorter than all of the punters ranked above him.....so he did not get the advantage of some long roll(s)

Only 1 punt has been returned (so hang time has been sufficient or better)

Every punter ranked above him either has a bunch of touchbacks (often times getting a long roll but -20 in net), very few inside the 20, a blocked punt and/or a bunch returned.

I'm sure he will have a stumble or 2 but this concern has been quashed
