Back when ASU held their junior day, there was a RB from Michigan there named Ryan Johnson that Norvell and Bo Graham took a quick liking to, moved to WR, and immediately gave him a bunch of extra work. They held him back afterward and showed him around, then told him if he lived in AZ he might be someone they'd consider offering.
Johnson is the cousin of former Chandler High LB Kurt Mangum, who went to Washington, transferred to Howard, and then grad transferred to Akron. @BlairAngulo and @Hod Rabino can both tell you what they thought of him at the time- personally, I thought he looked like he had work to do to get comfortable at WR, but he was probably the most athletic kid there.
