Mornin Mates...

Today's Topic = Exposed

Our undressing by the big, bad Trojans is a reality check on where our program truly stands these days in the conference...

It was an embarrassing loss but not totally unexpected unless you think that our big upset win over the Huskies, that had abandoned their offensive identity against us when they tried to pass more than run, had us turning the corner as a program that does not have a good offensive line, an average QB, and a not very talented defense, especially in the secondary...

Yes, we followed that up with an impressive win against a self described "miserable" Utah team, that has now lost four in a row, that set the stage last night for some expects on ESPN's Game Day picking the Sun Devils against a much more talented USC team...

Talent Is Destiny but I'm not sure that even best describes what happened last night, since we weren't even competitive at home, that probably had a lot to do with how our coaching staff overestimated our recent progress and what that all meant in how they planned and prepared the team for this game...

In any event, we were not ready for Prime Time and came across as a bunch of boys playing against grown men in a contest that should have been called off at halftime...

Thankfully, we now get to play Colorado that does not have more talent than we do but had an impressive win yesterday at home against Cal...

However, if we play anywhere as poorly as we did against the Trojans it will be another very long night in SDS next Sat...

Fortunately, both UCLA and Oregon St also do not have more talent than we do but those are road games, so I wouldn't be putting up wins in those games, as a forgone conclusion, after the stink-fest we exhibited last night...

And, the way Arizona is playing these days, with Khalil Tate running the Cats show, who here, with our anemic offense and porous defense, really thinks we will win that game..??

The amazing Tate rushed for 146 yds on only 13 carries and passed for 275 yds on 10-17 passing for 421 yds of total offense against a Wazzu defense that was supposed to be pretty good but was just destroyed by Tate and his offense...

Folks, for you doubters still out there, this guy is the real deal and it will be very interesting to see how he fares against the Trojans in the Coliseum next weekend as the winner of that game will almost assuredly win the PAC South...

Back in Tempe, it's time to lick our wounds and pick up the pieces from a terrible showing against the Trojans...

Todd's team was not competitive last night so that was a big negative in his quest to end the season as ASU's coach moving forward into next year and he better get to at least six wins and a bowl game, especially if the Cats end the season by running all over the Devils...

What an embarrassment and let down...we're back to being a laughing stock of sorts in college football...

That should never have happened at home in Todd's sixth season on the job at ASU...NEVER...but then again, that's the way we've been for the past three years at ASU for the most part...

Oh well, time to move on and hope that the offense can be more productive and that the defense can do better against the Buffs...

G'day Mates and Go Devils!!!
