Mornin Mates...

Today's Topic = The Derailment Dominoes Just Got Bigger

As we all know, the Herm Express was derailed last spring when it was announced that the NCAA was investigating his football program for alleged recruiting violations and, like the current pandemic, we have been living with that fallout ever since...

For awhile it looked like the damage might be contained at the lower hanging fruit level that consisted of our WR, DB and TE assistant coaches or as some might say, the tried and true "scapegoat" level...

However, with the nose dive taken off the plank walk by our offensive coordinator this week, the damage from the derailment has now shifted to the the "executive branch" of our football staff...

This might remind some of us old timers of the famous Watergate scandal back in the early 70s that was orchestrated by the highest levels of our executive branch of government, who denied any wrongdoing until the White House office tapes showed up that clearly contradicted that presumption...

In our case, we aren't dealing, it would appear, with any attempts to cover up the scandal since the motive, means and opportunity of wrongdoing were delivered to the NCAA on a silver platter by insiders who had first hand knowledge and documentary proof of the "violations"...

In the Watergate case it took several years for the scandal to be revealed by investigative reporters that led to the ultimate demise of the sitting president of the United States...

In our current scandal, where the NCAA is investigating the matter, it will take some time, maybe years, for the matter to be adjudicated...

With four coaching casualties already a part of the fallout associated with the scandal it would appear that these "pawns" will not be the last of the dominoes to fall as the investigation proceeds...

Where it will ultimately end is anyone's guess but it almost assuredly will end up beyond the coaching office of the former offensive coordinator...

In another thread, I brought up and compared the current NCAA investigation and the school's moves to mitigate the damage, to the game of Jenga, where 54 wooden blocks form a stable tower, but as each opponent removes a block the tower becomes more unstable until it collapses...

In my opinion, the tower that is our football program is really wobbling at this point and it won't take much more to topple it...

But, then again, maybe president Crow and the school have an ace hidden up their sleeve that they will play at some point...

In any event, with the NFL draft only a few months away the Sun Devils should have a lot of players drafted, somewhere between a half dozen and a dozen, I would think...

So, to keep things on a more upbeat path this morning who do you think will get drafted in April..??

Also, what round will they get drafted in..??

In no particular order what do you think about the prospects of these Sun Devils..??

Evan Fields, DJ Davidson, Darien Butler, Donovan West, Tyler Johnson, Kellen Diesch, Chase Lucas, Rachaad White, Jack Jones, Henry Hattis, DeAndre Pierce...

And, am I missing anyone..??

G'day Mates and Go Devils!!!
