Mornin Mates...

Today's Topic = Hope Springs Eternal

This is especially true for us Sun Devil football fans that seem to have been in purgatory for the past 18 months or so, while the NCAA started an investigation into our football program, we lost about half of our team to the transfer portal, our school didn't know how to deal with the NIL situation, and the PAC seemed to be on life support, once it was announced that both USC and UCLA were going to the Big 10...

But, with a new season on the horizon, with the PAC still being in existence, with the newly established SAC now showing us the NIL money, and with a roster full of bigger, stronger and faster players, hope is in the air, once more, in Sun Devil land...

Who cares if the preseason media picked us for 10th place in the conference because hope is in the air these days as our team starts gearing up for another Sun Devil football season...

We've got a new transfer QB candidate, who is a lot bigger than our prior QB, and a returning senior LB, who is a good 10 pounds lighter than last season, that should help him make more plays this year...

We've also got some new transfer DBs who are over six feet tall and weigh over 200 pounds and have a wingspan made for batting away passes in the secondary...

We've got a LT transfer candidate, who stands 6'6" and weighs almost 300 pounds, to protect our QB's blindside...

We've got a couple of transfer WRs who've got speed to burn, apparently...

We've got a defensive front seven that has a lot of talent and experience and should be a team strength...

We've got new offensive and defensive coordinators who seem to know what they are doing...

There's a palpable sense of urgency in the air and the team seems to have the best esprit de corps that anyone has witnessed in awhile...

So, what's not to like these days if you are a Sun Devil football fan..??

We might be a little upset that the team doesn't spend much time at Camp T anymore or that there aren't any great tailgating locations around SDS but those are minor issues, right..??

We're undefeated just like all those other nine teams in the PAC picked ahead of us and we all know that media pundits never know what they are talking about....

Therefore, life is good for us Sun Devil fans that have been in purgatory for well over a year...

Maybe all these transfers will help Herm elevate our program to unseen heights since we last won the conference and went to the Rose Bowl over 25 years ago...

In August, almost anything seems possible if you are a Sun Devil fan, right..??

Heck, it even rained most of the night down here in Geezerville and, as a result, the sunrise has been spectacular this morning, to go along with the cool air outside, and the warm coffee and donuts, while I read the newspaper...

Life is always good this time of year...:)

Right..??

G'day Mates and Go Devils!!!
