I was informed by a source with knowledge on this situation that cornerback Ronald Lewis did ask and receive his release from ASU. The native Louisianian is looking to transfer back home to Louisiana Tech who is on the quarter system and hasn't started their fall semester yet. Tulane and Louisiana Lafayette are others transfer possibilities for Lewis.
While Lewis is listed as Lloyd Carrington's backup at boundary corner, it was doubtful that he would see the field ahead of fellow corners Solomon Means and Kareem Orr. He didn't have a horrible camp but Orr's level of play probably played a factor here.
