less than 6 weeks til July 1st (the outside date for 2021 non-grad transfers to qualify for immediate eligibility
If we take a guy with 1 yr of eligibility it will not impact the 85 limit that we are up against for 2022 (and obviously we are way below that 85 that count in 2021....we could sign 10 more if we had that many Initial Counters available)
we either use that last initial counter on that guy with no downside, or we lose that no-brainer opportunity (my money is on a place kicker.....but realize that is a 1 in a millions shot.......as I don'r see any 1 yr DTs coming our way......hope I am wrong)
another option is to use it on someone like Geor'quarious Spivey (who could provide reps for 3 seasons).............or in a dream scenario we find another Conyers/Miller type with 4 years of eligibility (all of which WILL impact the 85 in 2022 but are as good or better than some otherwise potential replacements in the class of 2022 anyway)
in the meantime...........we are 10 days away from Tuesday June 1st when the dead period is finally lifted.................allowing for a flow of 2023 unofficial visitors to be treated like they should rather than as some random prep poking around the university and the stadium/Carson Center unescorted/informed (and despite the locks, the "talented" random non-recruit preps still get in....even during a pandemic)
.........not to mention the 2022 Official Visitors (hopefully not too many in the 27 days of June allowed but just those that we would definitely lose if we wait for Oct/Nov/Dec)
USE IT OR LOSE IT
