Here's the latest:

In-home visits with QB Joey Yellen today, and tomorrow locally with DB Noa Pola Gates and DL Brett Johnson.

The last two visits will give ASU a good idea as to where things stand with two local prospects who are seemingly both leaning towards ASU. Word is that Nebraska is going so hard after Pola Gates that after visiting Ty Robinson, who's leaning towards Nebraska, are hanging out in the valley so they can meet with Pola Gates tomorrow. As mentioned, Nebraska is trying to leverage their offer to NPG's cousin Matthew Pola-Mao to get NPG in the fold. So we'll see how that recruiting battle develops.

Johnson wrapped up today his official visit to Cal, the school he's currently committed to. ASU visits on Monday, reportedly the last in-home visit Johnson will have with any school that will offer clarity. But at least prior to the Cal visit ASU was feeling good about their chances.

Visit with QB Jayden Daniels last week went very well. Again, he's supposed to announce on Thursday the 13th and you already know what my forecast was concerning him nearly a month ago :)

ASU would like to land both Capra brothers who will be ending their official visit tonight. Right now they don't have any other official visits scheduled to other schools, so ASU looking very good to land both offensive linemen.

DL Stephon Wright will announce on signing day and this is expected to go ASU's way.

DL Drake Jackson scheduled to only announce on signing day but we should know for sure tomorrow if that's still the plan.

2018 signee RB Demetrious Flowers who ended up greyshirting is scheduled to arrive on campus in January. Yes, a somewhat rare instance where a greyshirt does come through, so to speak and actually enroll a semester later after his signing.

On that topic, OL Alijah Bates and WR Andre Johnson are fully on board being greyshirts in the 2019 class. Bates realizes how much stronger he has to get to compete, so having an extra six months to do so will help. With Johnson, it's more of trying to avoid academic pressure, so to speak, to have him sign now and feel that he's under to gun to qualify. He's on his path to qualify, but it's also prudent to give him his own six-month buffer just in case. ASU is very high on his skills and has been very impressed to see the numbers he put up on a Tolleson team that had very little talent and one that had opponents double-teaming Johnson on very down and yet he put together a solid senior season.

We may have to wait until after December period to see where the process is with DL Jared Hunte and LB Steven Linton. Again, it's possible that ASU won't be able to land either or both if the numbers dictate that.
